Dee`s Hang Out in Panama City Beach

This place is the best! The service was amazing and the food was delicious! Sorry the photos aren't better...Everyone dug in before I had a chance to take pictures!

The she crab was #1 on yelp, but I think the liberty she crab in Columbia SC is better! I had to add pepper. The appetizers could include oysters and maybe more variety. The she crab could come in plain and spicy? I prefer spicy.

Excellent food and huge portions. Staff was polite and friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Tamika gave us fabulous service! Hush puppies and hang bang shrimp were fantastic. Great flavors and large portions, had the Fried Grouper basket! Fried perfectly....It was nice to find a hidden gem in a shopping center in Panama city beach... will return.

This place has good food, but how would anyone know they don’t do takeout during the middle of a pandemic. They only want you to come sit and eat inside the restaurant. So rather then taking my money and buying from/supporting their business they say no orders after 5pm. So just an FYI for anyone wanting to eat here in the next few weeks you will have to eat inside with a 100 other people not wearing a mask or social distancing.

Dee’s Hangout is fantastic. Ordered food for the family. We all enjoyed it. Had enough food for another night of dinner. Chef came to our table and introduced himself to us. Could not complain about anything.

I really enjoyed my grilled chicken salad. Service was great!

Hands down my go to place to eat in PCB. I’ve yet to find a better place! Prices are very good, portions are great. All around 5 stars +. We ate there 3x on our last 7 day vacation stay. Be back soon! If you’re reading this and haven’t been to Dee’s....then stop looking at other restaurants and GO.

My wife and I found Dee's on the net and I gotta say I'm so glad we did. The food and drinks were awesome, we both had the grilled Mahi and the smoked tuna dip as an app. We also had the top shelf margarita's which were so good. Our server was a great guy and very helpful. Dee's has a great vibe and I would definitely recommend them.

I was not impressed. Our server was awesome. The food not so much. The fresh oysters were perfect. The steak tacos were okay. My husband got the cajun platter and everything was doused with thyme to the point that it was overwhelming. The fish on the platter was not done so it had to be sent back to be cooked longer. The cook sent out a completely new dish and replaced everything on it not just the fish, so my complaint is not with the staff at all. Definitely not worth the $75 for lunch.

We had the best experience here. The food OMG was fabulous. The hush puppies, the tuna dip oh it was all so great. Definitely will be back before we leave town. Everyone should try it out. Our favorite place here so far!!

Food here is really good..Waiter was nice and fast..Could have got a little more for your money but what we did get tasted great

The raw oysters here are DELICIOUS!! Burst of flavor. And food overall is good. Service is also great HOWEVER the 3 hostess's are very unfriendly. There are 3 beautiful African American hostess’s who just don’t make a great first impression when entering into this restaurant. They kinda set the vibe for you. Been here twice in the same week and never got a smile from any of the three.

Wow! The best shrimp and grits I've had. Employees were constantly cleaning and the service was great. Will definitely be back!

Eaters beware. They serve SO MUCH FOOD!!! Worth every penny though. Every one of the 8 I ate with mostly picky people loved their food. I mean it was incredible. We almost went somewhere else so I'm glad we wound up here. Will come back again!

Wow. We started with the tuna sampler, but instead of the cheese option we were allowed to get the third item as the special which was Cajun, along with the original and jalapeno. The house made Cajun crackers scream for attention, deservedly, and the other cops and crackers also pair very well. The entree portions are huge. Bring your appetite.

Great food and had great service for once, cant remember his name but he looked like a young Clark Kent maybe 19 or 20 glasses very well spoken and kind. Explained everything well and made my company and I very comfortable. This was months ago now but with the stay at home I've had time to reflect on my good and bad experiences. Go to Dees you wont regret it!

Some of the best seafood gumbo I have had, it was super fresh and had a great amount of seafood in it. Also the shrimp po'boy comes with a ton a shrimp! It got it to go and have enough for two meals! Super great food.

I absolutely love the hush puppies! The chicken fried steak is a flank steak that was marinated and battered with their own recipe. It was very filling and the staff was very sweet. I'll be visiting again!

My brother had been in PCB a few months ago and tried this place after other seafood places were too crowded. He and his wife highly recommended it so we gave it a shot. We were not disappointed, and in fact totally surprised that this strip mall restaurant would have excellent seafood as well as superb, friendly service. My wife tried the she-crab soup and I had the gumbo. Both were spot-on. We split the seafood platter and could not finish it between the both of us! Shrimp, oysters, grouper, and crab cakes were killer. The only thing missing were scallops, but this was an afterthought. Finally, the banana pudding was straight out of my Granny's kitchen. Really surprisingly good. Our waitress was super-attentive, friendly, and handled several extra requests without flinching at all. We got several pints of banana pudding to go, as Granny is no longer with us....

Excellent! Within four days we've eaten here twice; it's that GOOD! Fresh excellent tasting food with Great service!

While other restaurants in the area were half full at best, Dee's had an hour wait. That plus numerous recommendations from locals convinced us that we were in the right place. We made the right choice. The portions are generous and the food is outstanding. I was told by one of our group that the gumbo that he ordered was the best that he had ever eaten. I can't vouch for that because I won't eat that disgusting concoction. I can state, unequivocally, that the dishes that I ordered were fantastic. As you may have gathered, I am rather picky (and opinionated) about my food. It is a rare day that I can't find fault with a meal. That is all that I have to say.

David Martin is the great talent on stage and the patrons were of high spirits complimenting the great staff. Wow I look forward to seeing them again.

Was told wait was 1 1/2 hr. Still no food at 2hr. Friends of the staff would come in order get their food within an hour. When we asked about our food staff became very defensive and rude. After 2.5 hr we finally got our food. All of the orders I am speaking of were take out. While complaining to manager a bar tender walked up and interrupted and accused me of being disrespectful to the waitress what a joke. Food was terrible cold dry po boys were greasy. Not the Dees that was on front beach. This place is terrible and expensive.

I've been to Panama City a few times and had my restaurants that I loved. I decided to try something new and found a new favorite! The She Crab soup was spectacular! It was so rich and creamy! This alone would cause anyone to want to come back! The calamari and the dipping sauce were great! The main dish I had was the Cajun Platter with Etouffee, Gumbo, Red Beans & Rice, and Catfish. It was so good! Like I said, I definitely found a new favorite place in Panama City Beach!

My recommendation - Get the redfish! The server we had was great. The bartender was a bit slow making drinks, but the server was more than accommodating. All the food we had was fantastic. The Cajun potatoes were particularly great. We will be back!

So glad we decided to try Dee's on our Christmas beach visit. Unlike many of the local restaurants they are open after Hurricane Michael. Everything we tried was very good, including Hang Bang Shrimp appetizer, Gumbo and She Crab Soup. For dinner we had the Catfish Po-Boy and Fried Oysters. They have a good selection of drinks and a souvenir 24oz cup that can be refilled at a reduced price. We will definitely be back.

Second time eating there. Had fish and it was great. Be warned. The resteraunt is quite cool. But both times the helpful staff and great food mad it worth the trip .

This place was excellent. First off the fish dip is world class. Ask for the sampler and see if you can figure out which one was the best. I could have stopped there and easily given this place 5 stars. We ordered the shrimp and grits and shared it. It was amazing. The serving is Huge! I posted a picture of what we had left because we could not finish as a a shared dish. It has a little spice, as it should. It was so good. The shrimp were perfect too. Everything was so good I decided to try banana pudding. The best I ever had. Will definitely be back.

Great service and the staff was knowledgeable about gluten free items. I had a good experience and will definitely be back when we come for vacations.

Gluten free batter for all fried items available and a dedicated fryer for them. Not to mention that the food was freaking amazing to boot. I cannot wait to come back.

We tried a couple of other restaurants in the area and did not like them near as much. At Dee's, we had crab cake platter compression pattern with the turnip greens, fried shrimp platter with sweet potato fries, blackened mahi-mahi with cheesy grits and coleslaw, tuna dip appetizer and the calamari appetizer. All of it was very very good. Everything was hot when it showed up and very very tasty. We all loved every single bit of it. We are from Mandevill Louisiana where therestaurants are popular and the cooking is GOOD. We eat seafood all the time. This place has it down. Service was very good, everyone was wearing masks, atmosphere was great, even during Covid. This is our go-to place to eat when we come to Panama from now on. You cannot go wrong trying Dee's.

The chimichurri tasted old and like pure vegetable oil instead of olive oil. The tuna dip was decent but the cracker was so salty it was not edible. The tacos was decent. Definitely would recommend going somewhere else if you can.

Everything we had was great! We had a strawberry Daiquiri, margarita, fried pickles, the Cajun platter. We would definitely go back again!

Loved it!! The service and the food was top notch! This has to be the best place on the beach! We've eaten at all of the "high end" restaurants here and Dee's knocks them out of the park at half the price! The entire experience was great, and we will definitely be coming back!

Learned about it from 'Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. So much wonderful food that we carried out half or more.

Not sure how this place has 4.5 stars because they do not accurately quote wait times. We were quoted an hour to an hour and a half. At 1 and a half hours we check to see how close we were and there were 12 people in front of us. Obviously that would NOT have us sitting within an hour and a half. After speaking to the manager it would be at least another hour probably longer. We also found out that other people waiting were having the same issue. So we were not the only ones. I don't recommend going here until they get it together.

Casual cafe style diner. Ordered 2 meals. Grouper and red fish plates. Fast service, excellent food. Food is on the high end for the amount of food on the entree. The grouper was 4 small squares. The sides were good except collard greens in a very small dish. Large bowl Cole slaw. Hush puppies ok, may be either day old or heated all day, other than that, food is good but plan on spending at least $45 for 2 entree meals.

It's not fancy, but you wouldn't know it from the food. The calamari was good, but the sauce was okay. The smoked tuna appetizer was amazing. We had a grouper sandwich, seared mahi mahi, and shrimp etouffe. We all loved everything we ate. They had a bar in the back that was nice, and had live music when we ate there. We will definitely come back again.
